Early career advice
I have a confession to make: I unabashedly love advice.
I seek it out often and don’t hesitate to pass it on when I think they can be helpful to someone. I hedge with this qualifier because it seems to be in vogue to say that you shouldn’t take advice from other people. I couldn’t disagree more. I think advice is great!
With that said, here’s a collection of my favourite advice, especially targeted at someone early in their career, in no particular order:
- Runnin' Down a Dream: How to Succeed and Thrive in a Career You Love by Bill Gurley
- The Trouble with Optionality by Mihir A. Desai
- Climbing the wrong hill by Chris Dixon
- Don't End The Week With Nothing by patio11
- Your Life is Driven by Network Effects by James Currier (NFX)
- The Most Precious Resource is Agency by Simon Sarris
- Choose good quests by Trae Stephens and Markie Wagner
Do you have any links to good career advice you think should be on here? Message me and I’ll add them.
